According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Dampness causes stagnation and obstruction of circulation. Dampness is often combined with Cold, Heat, or Wind.
Characteristics of Dampness may include
- Invades lower body first
- Causes repeated attacks
- Tends to injure Spleen Yang
- Stickiness
- Turbidity
- Heaviness
- Slows things
Symptoms of Dampness may include
Feeling of heaviness, stuffiness in chest or stomach region, phlegm, no appetite, sticky taste in the mouth, sticky-thick-oozing discharges, urinary difficulty and cloudiness, dull aches, swollen joints, sticky coating on the tongue.
