Shen-Gem is a Chinese herbal formula used for insomnia, nervousness, and anxiety accompanied by palpitations, fatigue, poor appetite, pallor, dry skin, excessive sweating, and loss of memory.

Shen-Gem may be used long term for people with immune disorders, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.

Shen-Gem is a modification of Ginseng and Longan formula (gui pi tang), designed to strengthen the body while calming agitation. Ginseng, astragalus, atractylodes tonifies Qi. Salvia (dan shen) and amber (hu po) dispel stagnant blood. Vladimiria souliei (mu xiang) and cardamon (bai dou kou) move stagnant Qi. Poria (fu ling), White atractylodes (bai zhu), and ginger (gan jiang) dispel accumulated dampness. Zizyphus (suan zao ren), polygala (yuan zhi), and amber (hu po) act as sedatives, while also improving memory, concentration, and relaxation. Shen-Gem is for insomnia due to heart blood deficiency, whereby the patient has difficulty falling asleep.
