Phellostatin is a Chinese herbal formula used for candidiasis (overgrowth of candida yeast in the body), which can be caused by eating yeast bread, sugary fruits, a high-glycemic diet, juice fasting on fruit juices and root vegetables like carrot juice and beet juice, and also by being on antibiotics.
Phellostatin is often used for digestive disorders, sinus congestion, skin rashes, lethargy, headaches, joint or muscle pain, and vaginal infections resulting from candida yeast overgrowth. It is highly recommended to combine Phellostain with a broad spectrum probiotic formula to replensih healthy intestinal flora.
Other conditions Phellostatin is used for include Crohn’s disease, diarrhea, vaginal yeast infections, weight loss or weight gain from poor digestion, vaginitis, leuckorrhea, intestinal gas, and colitis.
Phellostatin has natural anti bacterial properties without causing resistant bacteria that can lead to the “superbugs” that are so rampant today as a result of overuse of antibiotics.
Phellostatin is a proprietary formula developed by master herbalist, lecturer, author, and founder of Health Concerns, Andrew Gaeddert. Phellostatin is a modern variation of the Classic Chinese herbal formula known as Four Gentlemen Decoction (Si Jun Zi Tang), which has been traditionally used in Asia as a digestive tonic that strengthens the body’s Qi (energy, vitality, life force, Prana). For Phellostatin, Gaeddert has added powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial herbs in place of fu ling (poria mushroom), in order to address modern health conditions caused by the use of antibiotics and/or the overconsumption of sugars, breads, and sweets that so often lead to candida overgrowth. There are many active constituents in Phellostatin which provide a broad-based anti-fungal therapy. Varied active components lessen the chance that resistant strains of fungi may arise. Phellodendron (huang bai) is widely used in China for intestinal infections. Plantago (che qian zi) and cnidium seed (she chuang zi), houttuynia (yu xing cao), pulsatilla (bai tou weng) are the strongest anti-fungal herbs in the formula. Cardamon (sha ren) treats flatulence.
For conditions of indigestion or malabsorption combine with Quiet Digestion
For conditions associated with antibiotic usage and depletion of healthy intestinal flora, combine with a probiotic.
